Republic Bancorp, Inc.
The largest bank holding company based in Kentucky, Republic Bancorp is the parent of Republic Bank & Trust, which has about 40 branches in central Kentucky and southern Indiana. It also owns Republic Bank, a thrift with a handful of branches in metropolitan Tampa and a single location in the Cincinnati area. The company entered the Nashville market in 2012 through the FDIC-assisted acquisition of the failed Tennessee Commerce Bank, which kept its name. The banks offer deposit accounts, credit cards, private banking, and trust services. Their lending activities mainly consist of residential mortgages and commercial real estate loans, which together account for some three-fourths of the company's loan book.
